Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ActiFlect ("ActiFlect", "we", "us") is a cognitive training app that gives you short daily brain-training workouts and tracks your progress over time. This policy explains what information we collect through the ActiFlect app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to the ActiFlect mobile app and its backend services. It does not apply to third-party services you may reach through the app (for example, Google or Apple's own sign-in screens), which are governed by their own privacy policies.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — the email address and password you register with (we store a salted, one-way hash of your password, never the password itself), or the email address and provider identifier Google/Apple share with us if you sign in that way. We also record which sign-in method you used and when your account was created.
• Onboarding & assessment data — the training goal you select, and your responses to the initial cognitive assessment used to calibrate your starting difficulty level.
• Workout & performance data — your answers to daily training challenges, response times, streaks, and the scores derived from them, including your overall Brain Score and per-domain scores (e.g. memory, logic, creativity).
• Leaderboard data — if you don't opt out (see Section 6), your display name, avatar selection, and cumulative weekly score are visible to other users on the leaderboard.
• Preferences — your notification settings (e.g. daily reminders, weekly report) and accessibility settings (e.g. extended time, colorblind mode, text size).
• Technical data — standard request metadata our servers log for security and reliability purposes, such as IP address, timestamps, and app version, used for things like abuse prevention and diagnosing crashes.

We do not collect payment information at this time, as ActiFlect does not currently process any payments.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and secure your account, and keep you signed in.
• To personalize your training plan and calculate your Brain Score and progress over time.
• To operate the weekly leaderboard, for users who haven't opted out.
• To send the notifications you've opted into (reminders, weekly reports, recovery nudges, referral acknowledgements).
• To detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and keep the service secure and reliable.
• To respond to support requests you send us.

We do not use your data to serve third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Signing In With Google or Apple

If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and a unique identifier for your account from that provider so we can create or match your ActiFlect account. We never see or store your Google or Apple password. You can review what ActiFlect is permitted to access at any time in your Google or Apple account settings.

5. Guest Accounts

You can try ActiFlect without registering, as a guest. Guest sessions are temporary and are not associated with an email address. If you later create a real account, your guest progress (such as a completed assessment) can be linked to that new account so it isn't lost.

6. Leaderboard Visibility

The weekly leaderboard shows your display name, avatar, and cumulative score to other ActiFlect users. You can opt out of the leaderboard at any time in Settings — once opted out, you're removed from the leaderboard others see, though your own scores continue to be tracked privately.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers — infrastructure providers that host our servers and database on our behalf, bound to only use the data to provide that hosting service.
• Legal reasons — if required to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or safety of ActiFlect or our users, or investigate fraud or abuse.
• Business transfers — if ActiFlect is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a comparable one.

8. Data Retention, Export & Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request an export of your data or delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & Data and Settings → Account respectively.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including one-way password hashing and short-lived authentication tokens. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to improve our safeguards over time.

10. Children's Privacy

ActiFlect is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Your Choices

• Access & export — request a copy of your data from Settings → Privacy & Data.
• Deletion — delete your account and associated data from Settings → Account.
• Notifications — turn individual notification categories on or off in Settings → Notifications.
• Leaderboard — opt out of leaderboard visibility at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA. Contact us using the details below to exercise those rights.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
